Useful questions, answered
Is the aggregate finish the waterproofing layer?
No. The decorative finish does not replace structural repairs or the waterproofing required by the project. The shell, render, bonding and waterproofing need their own agreed scope.
Will the water look exactly like the sample photograph?
Sample photographs are for illustration and give a general idea of colour and texture. Natural materials and hand production mean the finished surface may vary; photography, lighting and screens also affect appearance. Underwater insets are computer-generated approximations of water colour, not photographs of completed pools. Review a current physical sample before specifying or ordering. Depth, sunlight, shade and surroundings also affect the appearance of water in a completed pool.
Can an aggregate finish be combined with tile?
Yes, as a coordinated design. Tile can form selected waterlines or other details. Define the interfaces, joints and waterproofing, especially where surfaces alternate between wet and dry.
How should I calculate the finish area?
Use the surface to be covered: floors, walls, steps and other finished details. A pool’s water-surface area is only its plan area and does not include all those surfaces.
Where are the detailed application instructions?
Request the current approved documentation for the material and agreed construction system. Confirm the revision with the applicator before ordering or starting work.
